Introduction: Self-care is the ability of a person to apply the necessary care to cope with an illness or to prevent it, but in the case of the confraternity "Lupita Nolivos", which provides medical care to older adults who are those who are mostly affected, it is necessary that the nursing team knows both the results and interventions to safeguard the integrity of this group of people, as well as to know at what level they can apply care to themselves. Objective: To describe the NOC taxonomy in the self-care of the older adult with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Materials and methods: This study is developed under a quantitative modality with a positivist approach, as an instrument of data collection resorted to the survey and the observation sheet, while the sample is 50 medical records. Results: Through three surveys it was possible to identify that older adults have good habits that allow them to have a healthy life and through the observation sheet it was possible to capture the most common results and interventions within the CAE. Conclusions: The older adults respect the medical prescription and live in harmony with their condition, thanks to the fact that they are provided with periodic controls, on the other hand, the results of the medical record show that the most common results are lack of sleep, evacuation problems, nutritional disorder, emotional problems among others, which are treated through control interventions that allow them to regulate their metabolism.
