Homeopathy is assumed as a therapeutic method that was born on the European continent in the twilight of the 18th century in correspondence with the initiatives and observations of the German physician Samuel C. Hahnemann. His study is significant, due to its great acceptance, even in countries that characterize it as complementary medicine, despite the disagreement between followers and detractors. Objective: The purpose of this research involves the study of different visions of homeopathy as a complementary therapy from a theoretical approach for discussion. Methodology: It is constituted in a documentary investigation, both bibliographic and digital. Results: There are conflicting positions, in relation to the applicability of homeopathy in the health area. That is why there are numerous studies and experiences that support both approaches. They also highlight that even when Hahnemann's postulates are considered relevant in the origins of Homeopathy, at present, it seems to move in many cases for supports that are oriented to commercial sense, which is why, within the defense group, they warn of this situation, to avoid further setbacks in the already difficult course of this therapy. Conclusion: The discussion seems endless, however, it can be inferred that, despite the popular acceptance and the evidence presented by many professional practitioners of Homeopathy, its transcendence, integration and applicability in health systems will still depend on the convergence of the academic community.
