Abstract

Introduction: the diabetic foot is one of the main chronic complications of diabetes mellitus. Its social impact is revealed through its high morbidity, high amputation rate, and high economic cost. Analyzing the risk factors allows us to act in a timely manner in the diagnosis and management of the diabetic foot, determining a significant improvement in the quality of life. Objective: validation of the instruments to measure the risk factors that affect diabetic foot complications in patients older than 35 years who attend the Liborio Panchana Hospital in the province of Santa Elena. Materials and methods: an evaluative and cross-sectional field study was carried out. The quantitative-qualitative instruments that are going to measure the risk factors were validated by expert judgments. Results: within the data obtained Validity of 85.72%, Relevance 87.13% and Coherence was 88.52% in its totality of 263.71 giving us as a final result of 87.90% reliability. Conclusion: diabetic foot risk factors should be classified in such a way as to facilitate their recognition and management with a high frequency of risk actors for the appearance and development of complications.
