Prototype of manual of procedures for the issue of policies and supplements, Mapfre atlas compañía de seguros s.a. ecuador

Abstract

Insurance companies provide protection and support in cases of loss in some unexpected event, in cases where there is a loss of income due to death, old age, personal accidents and/or illness, which is why it is so important for an insurance company to function properly. For this reason, the objective of this study was to elaborate a prototype of the procedures manual for the issuance of policies and supplements of Mapfre Atlas Compañía de Seguros S.A. located in the city of Guayaquil-Ecuador, this prototype is due to the lack of guidelines for the processes related to the issuance of insurance policies. The study of the proposal of the Procedures Manual for the issuance of policies and supplements of Mapfre Atlas Compañía de Seguros S.A. was carried out under the positivism perspective, with the quantitative paradigm, descriptive field modality. The methodology applied was descriptive explanatory research. The data collection technique used was a survey with a questionnaire of six closed questions to the personnel of the issuing department. A semi-structured interview with a script of five open questions was elaborated. The population is made up of seven employees working in the insurance issuing department of Mapfre Atlas Compañía de Seguros S.A. The results are a prototype of a procedures manual for the issuance of policies, an adequate solution to be implemented to solve the aforementioned problems, optimizing the service provided by the company.
