Abstract

The mental health of human beings is as important as their physical health, and therefore requires care and attention from the earliest stages of life. On the other hand, violence affects the integrity of people from all aspects. In the case of psychological violence, it directly affects the psyche, causing low self-esteem, fears, insecurities and emotional dependence. That is why the objective of this research is to describe emotional dependence as a predisposing trait in psychological violence as conceived in Ecuadorian law. In order to fulfill this purpose, the methodology of a monographic review study was used, for the search of information, a bibliographic survey of more than 50 scientific articles related to the subject was carried out, the analysis of the information was carried out under the technique of the fiching, underlining and analytical reading. In Ecuador, in view of the high rates of reports of violence against women, a whole legal framework has been created to ensure the protection of the victims and to make the perpetrator answer before the law for the crime committed.
