Teaching competencies for learning in students of educational institutions

Abstract

In a globalized world, skills are constantly implemented and reorganized, individual development occurs almost simultaneously with technological and knowledge innovations, where social activity demands that people be open and prepared to recognize and acquire new knowledge, that is why primary school faces different realities, serving specific age groups and profiles of specific students from a physical, cognitive and emotional perspective. The main objective of this research was to analyze teaching competencies for learning in students of educational institutions in the municipality of Manaure, Colombia. Regarding the methodology used during the research, it was under a quantitative approach. The population consisted of 9 directors of educational institutions in the municipality of Manaure, Colombia, which was the object of study. For data collection, a questionnaire consisting of nine (9) Likert-type scale questions was used, and the respective statistics were also used for data analysis. Regarding the results obtained regarding pedagogical training, the teachers in question rarely develop teaching materials to support the subject, and their use of different strategies for student learning is limited. It is concluded that teachers demonstrate solid knowledge of their subjects and know how to select tools to encourage student engagement. However, they need to strengthen their teaching strategies through a well-defined and effective plan.
