The psychological sequelae of sexual abuse associated with PTSD—which affect cognitive systems such as memory, identity, and the victims' emotional state—pose challenges for the forensic evaluation of testimonies, which are sometimes deemed invalid. Although psychometric instruments exist to assess PTSD and the validity of testimony, their adaptation and validation in Latin America still face limitations. Therefore, to analyze scientific output published between 2009 and 2025, this study examines developments over time, the impact of the research, and collaboration networks within the scientific literature; this approach enables the identification, quantification, and mapping of studies regarding these scales within the Latin American context.
