Abstract

The purpose of this research entitled: Pemon Peoples values: an approach through the life story of Kendall Donald Mitchell, was to interpret in the discourse the importance of family and values in the life legacy of Lord Kendall Donald Mitchell of the indigenous community of San Francisco de Yuruani, of the Gran Sabana Municipality, Bolívar State. Through this work the sociocultural and most relevant events of a relational dialectical relationship of the actors are unveiled. The paradigm to which it is ascribed is the Interpretative under a phenomenological hermeneutical current. The research method is the history of life, which allowed understanding the individual from the context of their own experiences. For the collection of the information, the participant observation, the in-depth interview and the field diary were used. The results reflect the principle of unity as a fundamental value, with the family being the best expression and in this context the values that allow us to approach the human condition in a world of relationships arise.
