Abstract

This paper aims to create a reflection on mediation in higher education, as a strategy to improve the relationship between teachers and students, for having this area in the words of Manzano (2017), its own characteristics and a complex operation, which causes a very differentiated conflictivity, as we are in a context where different aspects converge such as educational, organizational, labor and even family, which need a global and accurate response to these conflict situations. Development. For the objective support of this work, the theoretical and methodological analysis of the references about mediation in the legal and university community was carried out. Methodology: It was based on the documentary review, with the orderly and methodical compilation of the information contained in books, brochures, codes and articles, which can be obtained in a library, specialized institutions such as the web page of the Judiciary Council. Results: Some research has shown ways of approaching conflicts by university students, such as avoiding confrontations, school desertion and students' isolation, which makes the university teacher's conciliatory work even more difficult. Conclusion: if we want to achieve a better quality of education, we must take a look at mediation in general and online mediation in particular, as one of the best alternatives to continue resolving conflicts and contributing to unblock the judicial system and the educational system, fundamental pillars in the development of a country.
