Orality-based actions for the strengthening of the Pemon Taurepan language in indigenous children

Abstract

This article has as a general objective to propose strategies based on orality for the strengthening of the Pemón language in indigenous children of the Center of Initial Education of the community “San Ignacio de Yuruaní”. The research had aimed at identifying the factors that have influenced the impairment of the language within the linguistic community that makes life in that center. Through this work, the collected information, has allowed us to detect what have been the elements and factors that hinder the teaching and learning processes of the Pemón Taurepan language. Consequently, obtained results were that support the proposal of a design that promotes linguistic competencies through oral practice and the study of the ancestral forms manifested in their conversational structures. To promote the rescue of cultural values and traditions is expecting, due to their language disuse, are in danger of extinction. It concluded that, to preserve the indigenous roots of the Pemón Taurepan language need, is urgently. Through the orality promotion, which is the basis on which the preservation and cultural exaltation of this ethnic group is based.
