This research analyzed the influence between personal financial education, structured in three dimensions (theoretical concepts, practical development, and attitudes), and financial decisions, also composed of three dimensions (economic, temporal, and strategic). The study was conducted at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University Federico Villarreal, Peru, in 2023. Using a quantitative, non-experimental, applied, and correlational-deductive approach, the research employed a sample of 109 students from the last two academic cycles. A questionnaire of 34 questions was applied; reliability was high (alpha = 0.907 and 0.953), and content validity was verified through expert judgment. The descriptive analysis showed that 53 percent of respondents perceived both variables at a medium level. The inferential results confirmed a strong positive correlation between financial education and financial decision-making (Spearman rho = 0.654; p < 0.001). Likewise, the ordinal logistic regression model showed a good fit (Nagelkerke R squared = 0.560). These results demonstrated a high degree of influence between the variables, highlighting the importance of implementing strategies that strengthen financial competencies and optimize decision-making in this field. Consequently, the study contributed to knowledge in economic sciences and promoted the development of skills to improve students’ personal financial management. It is concluded that strengthening financial education improves the quality of students’ economic decisions.
