This study aims to design and implement an environmental monitoring system to strengthen occupational health and safety in a technical higher education institution. A quantitative approach was adopted, using a non experimental design with a quasi experimental component, structured in two phases: initial diagnosis and post implementation evaluation. The study population consisted of the educational community, including teachers, students, and administrative staff, using a non probabilistic convenience sampling method. Environmental variables such as noise levels, lighting, carbon dioxide concentration, temperature, and relative humidity were measured, along with perceived environmental comfort using a Likert scale. The results showed statistically significant improvements after the implementation of the environmental monitoring system, particularly in the reduction of CO2 levels and noise, as well as an increase in lighting conditions. Significant correlations were also found between environmental variables and users perception of comfort. It is concluded that the implementation of an environmental monitoring system is an effective strategy to improve environmental conditions and strengthen preventive management in occupational health and safety. The proposed model demonstrates adaptability and scalability, making it suitable for application in other higher education institutions.
