Analysis of public policies on road safety in Ecuador, from the perspective of citizen education

The rates of traffic accidents have always been a reason for attentionfor the State, because they represent an indication of how its policies on road safetyare developed, which is why, this research, deals with the analysis ofthePublic Policies on Road Safety in Ecuador,from the point of view of citizen action,approachquantitative, field study, presenting adescriptivecharacter. Ppopulationwas made up of a specialpsychologistist, withparticipation inprogramsof road safety education. The sampleof 726subjects (female and male, aged, with vehicleand belonging to the geographic area in study). Interview and survey techniques were applied, using an interview script and a questionnairerespectively. The results showed the characterization of the current public policies for road safety and educationin force, reporting critical knots in their operation, with a largeimpact of the scarce budgetavailable. LEcuadorian State policies on education and road safety are relevant and in harmony with the international conventionsssigned by the nation. Eexecutesdasthrough public plans and programslinked to education and road safety, through training processeswith the support of governmental and private entities..
