In the Ecuadorian population, crime and violence rates continue to rise, and most of the complaints filed are from women, showing evidence of verbal, physical and psychological violence. In view of this situation, we propose a printed, didactic and informative guide on self-defense techniques, on how to act to prevent or defend oneself from aggression. The material is designed with photographs and precise texts for a better appreciation. A target group was chosen, giving way to the respective research techniques and to be able to execute our purpose in the community of Conjunto Habitacional Ónix de La Joya, located in Daule. The study is based on a positivist paradigm with a quantitative approach of field research type with a descriptive, cross-sectional level. The population consisted of 55 women, while the sample consisted of the total population. The data collection technique used was the survey and its instrument was the questionnaire. The statistical study was used as a data analysis technique. The results showed the insecurity of women in the community of La Joya and their interest in learning how to protect themselves. In conclusion, it is necessary to train women in self-defense, together with an explanatory preventive guide, printed for public knowledge.
