Radiation safety and protection of textile workers:Radiological diagnostic area

Nuclear medicine has many benefits for the diagnosis of multiple diseases, while at the same time constituting a risk for the workers in this area and the patients who frequently attend, This is why the present study had the objective of conducting a studyof a textile company in the radiodiagnostic area. Field research with a descriptive level, its population was the personnel working in the production area and the radiodiagnostic service, the sample consisted of 75 workers from production and 5 from that medical area. As data collection technique we employed the survey and its instrument the questionnaire, as a analysis technique was the hermeneutic statistical study. Among the results we have that the respondents answered in 51% that radiodiagnostic studies are always performed, while 28% of radiodiagnostic studies are rarely performed. Concluding with the need to increase occupational safety measures, to personnel who work in the radiodiagnostic area, to comply with the different radiation safety protocols, in view of the exposureto the effects of X-rays, Gamma they generate.
