Abstract

This study offers a theoretical and practical assessment of the role of teachers and tutors in Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), focusing on how they have adapted their pedagogical practices in response to the rapid transition to digital education, driven by global emergencies and the need for greater educational accessibility. Analyzing the experiences of forty educators, the article identifies trends and opportunities for improvement in virtual teaching, highlighting the relevance of technological and pedagogical skills to the success of these environments. Furthermore, it examines the interconnection of these competencies with essential elements, such as the physical environment and communication dynamics, aiming to optimize virtual learning to make it more interactive and inclusive, thereby addressing contemporary educational challenges. This analysis provides not only a current overview of online teaching strategies but also a foundation for future research in this field.
